讲述了以为俭朴的老人与海鸥的故事。老人每天都要步行二十多里去喂那些海鸥，却舍不得为自己花一次坐公交车的钱，老人把这些每月省吃俭用下来的钱去买面粉、饼干和着鸡蛋去喂海鸥，老人很爱那些海鸥，他说海鸥就是他的幸福，海鸥来了就是他的幸福来了，这样无私的老人却去世了。
